Washington Square Park is the 9.75-acre public park in the Greenwich Village neighborhood of Lower Manhattan, New York City. It's one of the best known of New York City's public parks, an icon , a meeting place and center for cultural activity. It has long been a hub for politics and culture in the city. For many years, people visiting the park have mingled with the buskers, performers, musicians, and poets. Few people know that the remains of more than 20,000 bodies rest under Washington Square.
This is a work-in-progress.
